UNION, NEW JERSEY (USA) September 20, 2011 – Now through September 30, 2011, the boating community can help the judges choose the regional winners of 2011 Interlux® Waterfront Challenge grants from among the qualifying projects submitted by organizations from across the U.S. The company will award $50,000 in grants in October 2011 to organizations that have created sustainable waterfront environmental improvements in their communities.

The project receiving the most Likes in each region will receive one vote, which will be counted with the votes of the five-member Waterfront Challenge judging panel to determine the regional winners. The judging panel will also select one national winner, to be announced in a ceremony at the Interlux booth at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show on Friday, October 28.
The judges for the 2011 Interlux Waterfront Challenge are: Thom Dammrich, President of the National Marine Manufacturers Association; Fred Daoust, General Manager, Interlux North America; John Kelly, Chairman of the American Coatings Association Antifouling Working Group and a member of the California State Lands Commission Fouling Technical Advisory Group; Dan Pingaro, CEO of Sailors for the Sea; and Susan Shingledecker, Director of Environmental Programs for the BoatU.S. Foundation for Boating Safety & Clean Water.
