Miami, FL – Miami Kiteboarding invites you to their 2nd Annual Kite For Girls Event to be held on Key Biscayne, FL, on Saturday, May 14th, 2005. Join MiamiKiteboarding (MKB), for its unique all-women competition in Miami and discover the growing sport of kitesurfing. MiamiKiteboarding is the first school established in the area and recently obtained a world wide instruction label(IKO). Along with the Florida Kitesurfing Association (FKSA), The Kiteshop, All major equipment manufacturers , and the local and international kitesurfing community will be at Crandon Park’s North Beach for a day of free kiteboarding discovery clinics, safety workshops, gear updates, Competition and rider exhibitions by the top-ranked women in kitesurfing such as Laurel Eastman ( world champion in 2002 , 2003), Daniela Acquatela ( Venezuelan women champion 2005).

Because of the extreme nature of the sport and Miami’s crowded beaches, the event will also focus on informing the community about important safety guidelines and new gear technology.

Kitesurfing is the fastest growing water sport in the world, and our mild Miami temperatures and steady Northeast winds provide the perfect place to learn and practice the sport, attracting riders from all over the world. Because of the extreme nature of the sport and Miami’s crowded beaches, the event will also focus on informing the community about important safety guidelines and new gear technology. Like last year, the Kite4Girls event will also provide a forum to connect the Southeast kiteboarding community and congregate some of the top local riders and representatives of the sport, both men and women. We anticipate a greater turnout than last year, with over 100 rider, nearly all local media will also be present. We hope to see you there!
